Christmas Present from Crosby Beach

A few weeks before Christmas my friend Becky approached me about a brilliant idea she'd had for a Christmas present. She wanted to do something different for her Mum and Gran this year and decided that it would be really nice for them to have some lovely, fun photographs of her.  So one weekend we headed over to her very favourite spot, Crosby Beach. It's such a beautiful coastline with stunning views that is wasn't difficult to get the creative juices flowing! I knew as soon as we arrived we were in for a fun packed day! Here are a few of my favourite photos, I hope you like them as much as I do!

Harman Photo Competition - 2nd Prize Winner!

A couple of weeks ago myself and a couple of fellow students on the Advanced Photography course at Macclesfield College entered some of our photographs into the Harman Photo Student Competition 2010.
The theme was: Urban Culture 'A Social Documentary' and the entries had to be printed on the Harman Crystal Jet RC paper. I am very excited to announce that I came in 2nd place for the first image below! The winning images will be displayed on the Harman stand at the Focus on imaging Exhibition 2011 at the Birmingham NEC in March.

I have also included a few more photographs I took at the Coal yard (J. Kirk & Co.) as I think they make a nice collection.

I would just like to say a very big thank you to Matt Davenport our really inspiring tutor and Cheryl Young for printing the images.

I'm a very happy lady!! :0)

Sisters

My friend Roxy (in the pink scarf) moved to the UK from Romania 9 years ago and although she has kept in close contact with friends and family she hasn't seen her beloved sisters in all that time!  This summer her sister Ina came to stay for a couple of weeks, so it was the perfect opportunity to get them together, have some fun and make up for a tiny little bit of lost time!

We headed up to Macclesfield forest to catch the late afternoon sun... yes it was out! Thanks so much lovely ladies it was an amazing experience and I had a big smile on my face throughout all the editing! Oh and Roxy, I can't wait to meet your other 3 sisters!
